About The Role

We are looking for an experienced Cloud Architect to design, develop and optimise scalable, secure and resilient cloud solutions.

You will play a key role in defining cloud architecture and strategy, working closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective solutions.

The successful candidate will bring strong cloud architecture experience, a solid understanding of modern infrastructure and security principles, and the ability to provide technical leadership across complex cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, secure and highly available cloud architectures.

• Define cloud architecture standards, patterns and best practices.

• Translate business and technical requirements into effective cloud solutions.

• Lead the design of cloud infrastructure across public, private and hybrid cloud environments.

• Support cloud migration, modernisation and transformation programmes.

• Design solutions covering areas such as compute, storage, networking, security, identity and integration.

• Work closely with engineering, DevOps, security and infrastructure teams throughout solution delivery.

• Review existing cloud environments and identify opportunities for optimisation, automation and cost efficiency.

• Ensure solutions meet requirements around security, governance, resilience, performance and scalability.

• Provide technical guidance and architectural oversight throughout the project lifecycle.

• Support the development of disaster recovery, business continuity and high-availability strategies.

• Produce clear architectural documentation, diagrams and technical specifications.

• Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and recommend solutions where they can deliver business value.

• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Experience

• Proven experience working as a Cloud Architect, Solution Architect or similar cloud-focused role.

• Strong experience with one or more major cloud platforms, such as Microsoft Azure, AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Strong understanding of cloud architecture principles and modern infrastructure.

• Experience designing enterprise-scale cloud solutions.

• Knowledge of cloud networking, identity and access management, security and governance.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies such as Terraform, Bicep or CloudFormation.

• Understanding of containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

• Experience with CI/CD, DevOps practices and cloud automation.

• Strong understanding of high availability, disaster recovery and business continuity.

• Knowledge of cloud cost management and optimisation principles.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder-management skills.

• Ability to provide technical leadership and communicate architectural decisions effectively.

Desirable Experience

• Relevant cloud certifications across Azure, AWS or GCP.

• Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud environments.

• Knowledge of modern data, AI and integration architectures.

• Experience supporting large-scale cloud migration or digital transformation programmes.

• Understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks and governance.

• Experience working within complex, regulated or global organisations.
