About The Role
Location: Flexible / Remote
Contract: Full-Time
Role: Global Reporting Lead – Workday
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Global Reporting Lead to take ownership of the reporting and analytics strategy as part of a major Workday data model transformation.
This role will ensure reporting is embedded into the new architecture from the outset, rather than being treated as a downstream activity following migration. You will work closely with HR, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Reward, business stakeholders, migration teams and technical delivery partners to ensure the future Workday environment provides accurate, trusted and meaningful reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the reporting and analytics strategy for the new Workday data model.
- Conduct a comprehensive current-state reporting audit, identifying existing reports, dependencies, gaps and risks.
- Define future-state reporting requirements aligned with the new job architecture, allowances, leave types and master data model.
- Gather and manage reporting requirements across HR, TA, TM, Reward and business leadership.
- Translate business requirements into clear technical reporting specifications for technical and implementation teams.
- Oversee the design and delivery of custom reports, dashboards, Discovery Boards and Workday Prism Analytics, where applicable.
- Review and validate reporting solutions produced by technical teams, ensuring they meet agreed business requirements.
- Own data validation from a reporting and analytics perspective, ensuring migrated data produces accurate and trustworthy outputs.
- Partner closely with the Migration Lead to identify the reporting impact of changes to fields, structures and the wider data model.
- Identify existing reports that may be impacted or require redevelopment as part of the transformation.
- Assess downstream reporting and analytics dependencies, including integrations with BI tools and people analytics platforms.
- Ensure reporting architecture follows appropriate data privacy, GDPR and role-based security requirements, particularly around PII.
- Establish reporting standards and governance to support a consistent global reporting environment.
Skills & Experience
- Strong experience within Workday Reporting and Analytics, ideally within a global transformation or data migration programme.
- Strong knowledge of Workday Advanced Reporting, Report Writer and Calculated Fields.
- Good understanding of BIRT, Discovery Boards and Workday Prism Analytics.
- Ability to review and challenge technical reporting solutions without necessarily being the hands-on report developer.
- Experience defining reporting requirements and translating business needs into technical specifications.
- Strong understanding of Workday data structures, master data and reporting dependencies.
- Experience validating migrated data and identifying data quality issues through reporting.
- Understanding of downstream BI, analytics and data integration requirements.
- Knowledge of GDPR, PII management and role-based reporting security.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
- Experience working with global HR functions including HR, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management and Reward would be highly beneficial.
The Ideal Candidate
You will be someone who can sit between the business, data and technical teams, understanding what stakeholders need from reporting while being knowledgeable enough in Workday to challenge designs and ensure those requirements are properly delivered.
You will take a proactive approach to identifying reporting dependencies and risks early, ensuring the organisation reaches go-live with a reporting environment that is accurate, scalable and trusted by the business.
