About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Design Researcher to lead user research and contribute to the design of intuitive, user-focused digital products within an enterprise technology environment.

This role combines user research, UX/UI design and product development, working closely with product managers, engineers and business stakeholders to turn research insights into practical, high-quality solutions.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience researching and designing software products for professional users, with the ability to understand complex workflows and translate findings into effective product experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct qualitative and quantitative user research, including discovery interviews, contextual inquiries, usability testing and behavioural analysis.

  • Engage with investment professionals and enterprise users to understand workflows, challenges and product requirements.

  • Establish and maintain research processes, including participant recruitment, consent management and secure handling of confidential information.

  • Develop and manage a searchable research repository to capture insights, findings and recommendations.

  • Implement efficient, repeatable research methods that support fast-paced product development and release cycles.

  • Translate research findings into user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes and high-fidelity UI designs.

  • Design and evaluate AI-assisted workflows, focusing on user trust, transparency, verification and error handling.

  • Contribute research insights, evaluation examples and failure scenarios to support AI product quality and reliability.

  • Collaborate with product managers and engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle, from initial discovery to development and release.

  • Use research evidence to influence product priorities, design decisions and feature improvements.

  • Ensure designs align with established design systems, accessibility standards and user experience best practices.

  • Communicate research findings and design recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Product Design, UX Research or a combination of both within software product environments.

  • A strong portfolio demonstrating user research that influenced product decisions and digital interfaces successfully designed and delivered.

  • Excellent understanding of qualitative research methodologies, including user interviews, usability testing and contextual inquiry.

  • Working knowledge of quantitative research methods, behavioural analytics and data-driven decision-making.

  • Strong proficiency in Figma, wireframing, interactive prototyping and UI design.

  • Experience researching and designing products for specialist or professional users within complex industries.

  • Ability to translate research insights into practical, user-centred design solutions.

  • Strong understanding of user experience principles, interaction design and design systems.

  • Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience collaborating with product and engineering teams in Agile development environments.

  • Ability to balance user needs, technical constraints and commercial priorities.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working within financial services, investment management, legal, healthcare or other specialist industries.

  • Exposure to AI-powered products, LLM applications or intelligent workflow solutions.

  • Understanding of user trust, transparency and verification within AI-assisted systems.

  • Experience establishing research operations, participant management processes and insight repositories.

  • Familiarity with behavioural analytics platforms and product experimentation.

  • Experience designing complex enterprise SaaS applications or data-intensive interfaces.

  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.

  • Experience working in fast-paced product environments with frequent release cycles.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology or a related discipline.

  • Equivalent professional experience and a strong background in product design or user research will also be considered.
