About the Role

We are looking for an experienced D365 Business Central Finance Architect to lead the design and delivery of finance solutions across Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central environments.

The successful candidate will combine strong D365 Business Central functional expertise with a deep understanding of finance and accounting processes, providing architectural guidance across implementations, integrations and system improvements.

You will work closely with senior stakeholders, finance teams, functional consultants and technical teams to translate complex business requirements into scalable and effective Business Central solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the functional architecture and design of D365 Business Central Finance solutions.
• Analyse business requirements and translate them into robust Business Central solutions.
• Provide expert guidance across core finance processes, including:
  • General Ledger
  • Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Cash & Bank Management
  • Fixed Assets
  • Financial Reporting
  • Budgeting
  • VAT and Tax
• Design and oversee Business Central finance configurations in line with business requirements and best practices.
• Define solution architecture across Business Central and connected systems.
• Work closely with technical teams on integrations, extensions and customisations.
• Identify opportunities to improve and optimise existing Business Central finance processes.
• Lead workshops with finance stakeholders to understand requirements and define appropriate solutions.
• Provide architectural oversight throughout the full project lifecycle, from discovery and design through to implementation and go-live.
• Support data migration, testing, deployment and cutover activities where required.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable and aligned with the wider technology landscape.
• Provide technical and functional leadership to Business Central consultants and project teams.
• Act as a senior point of contact for clients and stakeholders, providing expert advice on D365 Business Central Finance.

Essential Requirements

• Extensive experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Strong functional expertise across Business Central Finance.
• Proven experience designing and architecting D365 BC finance solutions.
• Strong understanding of core finance and accounting processes.
• Experience working on full-cycle D365 Business Central implementations.
• Experience gathering requirements and translating complex business needs into functional solutions.
• Strong understanding of Business Central configuration, extensions and integrations.
• Experience working with both functional and technical teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to operate at an architect / senior consultant level and provide strategic guidance.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with AL development and Business Central extensions.
• Knowledge of Power Platform and Microsoft technologies, including Power BI and Power Automate.
• Experience with Business Central integrations and APIs.
• Experience with data migration into D365 Business Central.
• Knowledge of multi-company, multi-currency and international finance environments.
• Experience working with localisation, VAT and tax requirements across multiple countries.
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central certification.
• Previous experience leading large or complex Business Central transformation projects.

The ideal candidate will be a senior D365 Business Central Finance specialist who can operate at both a strategic and hands-on level. You will have the ability to understand complex finance requirements, design the right Business Central solution and provide architectural leadership throughout delivery.

You should be confident working with senior finance stakeholders and technical teams, with a strong track record of delivering scalable D365 Business Central Finance solutions within complex business environments.
