About the Role

We are looking for a Global HRIS Specialist to take ownership of our HR systems landscape, with a particular focus on Workday HCM.

This is a hands-on systems build and configuration role, rather than a traditional functional HR position. You will be responsible for configuring, maintaining and continuously improving Workday and other HR technology platforms across a multi-country environment.

You will work closely with People teams and wider business stakeholders to understand requirements, translate them into effective system solutions and ensure our HR technology remains accurate, scalable and fit for purpose.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and maintain Workday HCM configuration, ensuring the system continues to meet business and People team requirements.
• Configure and enhance Workday business processes, functionality and system settings.
• Build and maintain calculated fields, advanced reports and matrix reports.
• Manage and maintain Workday security configuration.
• Administer additional HR technology platforms, including configuration, user management and ongoing system support.
• Manage relationships with HR technology vendors where required.
• Translate business requirements into clear and scalable system requirements.
• Challenge requests where appropriate and advise stakeholders on alternative or more effective system solutions.
• Take ownership of existing systems and processes, including scopes previously managed by other team members.
• Review existing configuration, documentation and processes to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
• Maintain high standards of data accuracy, system governance and configuration documentation.
• Work across multiple countries and consider regional requirements when designing and implementing system changes.
• Prioritise and arbitrate competing requests from different People teams.
• Communicate timelines, priorities and decisions clearly, including when requests cannot be accommodated immediately.
• Support system testing, releases, troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Partner with HR, People Operations, Payroll, Talent and other teams to ensure HR technology supports wider business objectives.

About You

We are looking for someone who is technically hands-on, highly organised and confident working across a complex global HRIS environment.

You will have:

• 3–5 years of hands-on Workday configuration experience — this is a build role, not a functional HR role.
• Strong experience with Workday HCM.
• Proficiency in Workday reporting, including calculated fields, advanced reports and matrix reports.
• Strong understanding of Workday security configuration.
• Experience administering at least one other HR technology platform end-to-end, such as an ATS, expense management system, LMS, engagement platform or similar HR tool.
• Experience managing system configuration, users and vendor relationships.
• The ability to translate business needs into clear system requirements and recommend the right technical solution.
• Confidence to challenge stakeholders and push back when a requested solution is not the most appropriate approach.
• Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to data accuracy.
• Experience maintaining clear and thorough configuration and process documentation.
• Experience working within a multi-country or global HR environment.
• The ability to take ownership of an existing system or scope, including reviewing and mapping work previously managed by someone else.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to balance competing priorities across multiple People teams.
• The confidence to communicate difficult decisions and explain when something needs to be prioritised for later.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
