We are looking for an experienced Workday Functional Financials Consultant to join our client’s team and support the delivery and optimisation of Workday Financials within a Belgian business environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience across Workday Financials, combined with a good understanding of Belgian finance and accounting requirements. Experience translating Belgian finance localisation requirements into Workday is highly desirable.

Dutch-speaking candidates are preferred, with strong English communication skills also required.

The Role

As a Workday Functional Financials Consultant, you will work closely with finance stakeholders and project teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective Workday Financials solutions.

A key focus of the role will be understanding how Belgian finance and accounting requirements translate into Workday, ensuring the solution supports local business and regulatory needs.

You will be involved across the functional lifecycle, including requirements gathering, process design, configuration, testing, implementation and ongoing support.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide functional expertise across Workday Financials.

• Work closely with finance stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into Workday solutions.

• Analyse Belgian finance and accounting requirements and assess how these can be supported within Workday.

• Support the design and configuration of Workday Financials functionality.

• Gather, document and analyse functional requirements.

• Map existing finance processes and develop future-state processes within Workday.

• Configure and support Workday Financials based on agreed business requirements.

• Support areas such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Banking, Expenses and Financial Reporting, depending on project scope.

• Work with stakeholders to understand Belgian localisation requirements, including local accounting and reporting considerations.

• Support integrations and data flows between Workday and other financial systems where required.

• Develop and execute functional and user acceptance testing.

• Support defect resolution and troubleshoot functional issues.

• Provide guidance and support to finance users throughout implementation and post-go-live.

• Work closely with Workday technical, integration and other functional teams.

• Support Workday releases, enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Ensure solutions align with both Workday best practice and relevant Belgian finance requirements.

About You

We are looking for someone with:

• Strong functional experience with Workday Financials.

• Hands-on experience with Workday Financials configuration and implementation.

• Strong understanding of core finance and accounting processes.

• Experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into Workday solutions.

• Good understanding of how local finance requirements can be translated into Workday.

• Experience working with Belgian finance processes or Belgian localisation requirements is highly preferred.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

• Experience working across complex or international Workday programmes.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Fluent or professional Dutch language skills.

• Strong English communication skills.

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience delivering or supporting Workday Financials in Belgium.

• Knowledge of Belgian accounting, tax, VAT or statutory reporting requirements.

• Experience working with Workday Financials integrations.

• Experience supporting multinational Workday implementations.

• Workday Financials certification or relevant Workday training.
